The new Haleyville Metro website is now live and ready for use. As you can see we’ve updated the homepage with live news feeds, a Google search and weather on the home page for everyone. We have also changed some of the rules for users to allow for a better environment for all ages.

Authorities: Motorists often ignore warnings about travel on wet roads

When Curtis Summerville sees raindrops start to splash across his windshield, he does what a lot of his fellow state troopers do: He waits.
"As troopers, we know accidents will increase when it's raining," said Summerville, a spokesman for the agency. "So we wait, because we know we're about to get a lot of calls for wrecks."
